Pain Management

Pain management involves a multidisciplinary approach to alleviate or reduce pain, improve function, and enhance the quality of life. Pain can be acute (short-term) or chronic (lasting >3 months).

Types of Pain

  • Acute Pain: Sudden onset, usually due to injury, surgery, or illness.
  • Chronic Pain: Persists beyond normal healing time (e.g., arthritis, fibromyalgia, back pain, Disc Pain, Spondylitis, Nerve Pain, Arthritis, Joint Pain).
  • Neuropathic Pain: Caused by nerve damage (e.g., diabetic neuropathy, Frozen Shoulder, Diabetic Neuropathy, Migraine, Headache).
  • Nociceptive Pain: Resulting from tissue damage or inflammation.
